RIDING LYNX

Snowmobiling is a physically demanding sport. It perfectly compliments my career as a professional formula driver. In winter snowmobiling is included in my physical training program because it works exactly the right muscles and improves and maintains reactions and driving touch. I record every riding session with my sport watch and heart rate belt.
Sporty riding on the trail is my cup of tea so the Rave Enduro 600R E-TEC and Rave RE 850 E-TEC are the sleds I ride. My ultimate dream sled would be the combo of those two: Rave Enduro Emma Edition with 850 engine!
Though snowmobiling is a sport for me, it is also a great way to share experiences and spend time with people with the same passion. I like the camaraderie of snowmobiling. I always meet new nice people on the trails and I often ride with people who I do not yet know.
I feel like I am like Lynx: rough, Finnish, unpredictable, unyielding and ambitious.

STARTING OUT

I rode a sled for the first time with my father when I was about 6. Dad is also a motorsport enthusiast and in addition to karting cars, we also had snowmobiles when I was a kid, which was not usual for people who live in Helsinki. We used to ride at our cottage in southern Finland. I always had a struggle with my big brother about who’s turn it would be next to ride with Dad. I was also allowed to ride by myself on the lake ice.
When I was 15, I was finally allowed to ride by myself but just a year later I hurt my back when riding. I had almost 10 years off from snowmobiling and after that I just randomly rented a sled on winter vacations. In spring 2020 I was really bitten by the snowmobile bug again when I was involved in the Lynx 2021 lineup launch in Levi, Lapland!
My involvement with Lynx deepened further a year ago and since then I’ve ridden thousands of kilometers. Now I’m completely hooked!

LIVING SISU

I remember when I took my first big air on a trail that I’d never ridden before. Suddenly there was a big mogul ahead of me and a steep drop to downhill behind that. The front end of the sled was pointing at a bluebird sky and then I was like oh s***! It felt like time slowed down and I had surprisingly a lot of time to think of different solutions to handle the situation.
Luckily my body knew what to do, even though I didn’t realize what to do. I squeezed the brake lever, the front end came down and just before landing I throttled. The Rave Enduro landed perfectly. After the landing I just roared and cursed a couple of minutes while riding, pumped with joy and adrenaline. It was just so cool. I’ve been very thankful to my motorsport background in that type of situation.
I’m addicted to adrenaline. It is fuel to my engine and it has been that way since I was a kid. My eyes get bright when I get to situations where I push my own limits, along with the limits of the vehicle and conditions. It is the force that drives me.

On the playlist

Usually anything with roots to groove/funk. No matter if it's rock, rap, hiphop, disco or dance.

Must-haves on a sled trip

Protective gear like knee guards, chest protector, kidney belt, neck protector and good helmet. Protective gear is the most important and cheapest life insurance. I never ride alone or without a cellphone.

Bucket list riding destination

If you could take your Lynx Anywhere?

Trip to the Arctic Ocean in Norway. Riding in Canada is another one of my dream destinations for the amazing scenery.
