1. Prepare Your Snowmobile
• Park the sled on a flat surface.
• Remove the tether cord for safety.
• Take off the right-side panel to access the snowmobile chaincase.
• Place your drain pan under the belly pan opening where the drain plug is located.
2. Drain the Old Oil
• Use the Allen socket to remove the drain plug.
• Remove the fill cap on top of the chaincase to let air in and speed draining.
• Allow the chaincase oil to drain completely.
3. Reinstall and Torque the Drain Plug
• Clean the plug threads.
• Reinstall the plug by hand to avoid cross-threading.
• Tighten the plug with a torque wrench to the torque specified in your sled’s Operator’s Guide.
4. Refill with Fresh Oil
• Remove the check plug on the side of the snowmobile chaincase.
• Using a funnel, refill with fresh chaincase oil for snowmobile until it begins to drip from the check plug hole.
• If using XPS oil, the amount in the bottle matches the required volume.
5. Close the System and Check for Leaks
• Reinstall the check plug (hand-tight first, then secure).
• Replace the fill cap.
• Wipe down the area and inspect for leaks.
6. Dispose of Used Oil Properly
• Collect the used oil in a sealed container.
• Bring it to a recycling center or authorized Lynx dealer.
• Never dump oil in the environment.
Used oil can contain contaminants. Always handle it with care.
